Update for the week ending 7/29/2006

This week’s update will go out a day early because I will be out of town this weekend. During my absence, Glen Scott will be Acting Fac Rep. His cell phone number is 661-317-2738. I am taking my wife, daughter, and mother-in-law to Spokane for a visit with my family.

There was not a whole lot going on this week, but I do have the straight info on the folks selected to other facilities. They are:

As you can see, with BW retiring in October, we will need some checkouts and new folks in here to cover for those selected to leave.

I talked with another local area Fac Rep regarding some equipment issues that they are having.

On Thursday, I used 1 hour and 4 minutes of NATCA time. During that time, I had an opportunity to meet with DD. We cleared up some info regarding Skywest’s RJs and their performance envelope dictated by their operations folks. As it turns out, they will be climbing out at 200 KIAS from 2500 to 10000 MSL. This means that we will need to be extra careful with these guys if we launch someone behind them. I also caught up on a few e-mails and then went to Fry’s and exchanged the memory card that I bought for us the week before last. It turned out to be bad so I had them give us a good one.

I checked out our bank account online. If you want to know what we have or what has been spent, you are welcome to come to the office to look at our books anytime. I have our account signature cards 75 percent done and will complete it when Craig returns from vacation.

Whiteman Tower now has their R-ACD fully operational. Their position symbol is B. Some folks have asked about additions to their LOA so that they would be responsible for building data blocks, etc. Please send me your comments on this issue.
